Review: Elmo’s World: Food, Water & Exercise

Before I purchased this I was going to ask for a review from someone who had already purchased the "Movie". I didn't see any one star ranking or negative comments so I gave it a chance. After watching it I feel they really don't take the time to put much content into what they are churning out

From my perspective the below information is what you would pay for should you click the buy button.

Food: Other than an apple it didn't really give any advice on good foods or make any food your child should eat seem appealing. The motto was food taste good and you should eat it.

Water: You drink it, swim in it and it’s wet. Elmo does his diving in a few places but I’m at a loss.

Exercise: In this video, basically, playing is exercise. There is a 50 second song that is mostly talk from the red headed lady and an elephant on the “Exercise Channel”. This is what they are alluding to in the plot summary as “joining in the exercise by groovin’ to the Bunny Hop”, 50 seconds out of 44 minutes.

At the end Elmo mentions that Dorothy swims and he likes to ride his bike. There are a few clips where a parent is trying to teach his kid how to swim, other than that the kids are mostly on the playground.

I understand that this is an “Elmo’s World” video and I really like Elmo and my son who is 2 year and 5 months old loves him. I was just expecting Elmo to actually do something with the kids. If you are looking for something that your child can do for 40 minutes please look at a workout program called “Tony and the kids” where they really do teach your child about water and exercise. After exercising they sit down at the end and discuss food, what they should eat, and what should be eaten in moderation. It also cost ten dollars and you actually find something of value for your money.

I can’t give “Elmo’s World: Food, Water & Exercise” a one star because it is an Elmo’s World clip, but I feel the cover sells the program as Elmo working out and drinking water for hydration. That along with the fact that the Plot Summary states, “you can even join in the exercise by groovin’ to the Bunny Hop” is clearly taking a creative spin on the program content. I guess this is the American way of turning a profit, and that’s OK; isn’t it?
