Fresh: It's a toughly told, very tall tale, one of the best escape (and escapist) movies of the season.

Rotten: When the final credits roll, you can be forgiven a vague sense of dissatisfaction, because the creativity that went into formulating the premise was never extended to the script writing stage.

One word, nostalgia!
It’s about time iTunes uploaded Escape from New York in high definition! I always wondered if Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid was based on Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken. This movie is a great sci-fi and action thriller. Much better than the sequel, Escape from Los Angeles. This movie demonstrates when movies actually focused on a good stories with memorable characters.

WELL IT'S ABOUT TIME IT WAS MADE FOR PURCHASE!
This movie is amazing! Definitely one of John Carpenter's best. Kurt Russell does a great job as Snake Plissken. The supporting cast, including the late Ernest Borgnine, make this move solid. I don't know if a younger generation will like this movie, but if you grew up in the '80s, this is a must have!!!! Took iTunes long enough to get it for purchase.
