Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Unconvincing indie rom-com has artful aspirations but lacks flavor.
Rotten: The callow behavior that characterizes Ex-Girlfriends' lead would be less maddening had writer/director/star Alexander Poe firmly decided how to portray the bedroom follies of youth.
Rotten: Feels like a promising college project that wasn't ready for the real world.
Rotten: Ex-Girlfriends is one case in which you truly wish life didn't cling so closely to art.

Ex-Girlfriends
Great movie! AP is so spot on with how loneliness and desperation can make it so easy to convince yourself that your ex may be Mr/Ms Right, now. Definitely makes you cringe at times, when you are forced to recognize that, at one time or another, you were that idiot. Thankfully, the funny parts make it so you end up laughing at yourself, instead of beating yourself up. Really great movie!
PS I disagree. I liked the narration and the added element of the class. Gave the movie another dimension.
IGNORE THE CRITICS! Great movie!
This is another movie where independent film is more real and more enjoyable than many mainstream films. Well done indie film makes you feel, makes you think, and is an enjoyable movie to watch. That it's set in NYC is just an added bonus. Highly recommend!
Ex-Girlfriends
Funny at the right times, painfully true to relationships all the time. The dialogue is natural and flows well enough on its own that the narration is sometimes distracting. Very professional cinematography. A great start for Poe.
