Plot Summary
A 747 traveling from Athens to Washington DC is hijacked by a group of terrorists. They claim it's to force the government to release their leader, but covert intelligence man David Grant doesn't believe it. He tries to persuade the authorities to keep the plane out of US airspace while a rescue mission is put together. This mission involves the use of a high tech plane specifically designed for mid-air crew transfers. With Grant, they make it aboard the 747 only to find that they must overpower the terrorists and disable a bomb with enough nerve gas to knock out all of Washington DC below.

Rotten: There's nothing like a protracted action drama in which anti-terrorist commandos slink around the bowels of an airborne 747 and talk about what they hope to accomplish upstairs in the final shootout.

wingnut is an idiot this movie is fine
Its an older movie meaning that the special effects arent as great as they are in modern times. In addition, the plot line in the movie isnt bad either, it details a terrorist threat of an airplane hijacking to destroy the east coast of the united states.Its ironic that this movie was made in '97 but 9/11 didnt occur until '01; which makes this movie unique
An excellent thriller!
Executive Decision is a crossover with Mission Impossible, The Rock, and Air Force One. Though this isn't a shoot 'em up, it's suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat! A must see thriller with an excellent cast!

Wingnut is indeed a moron; this movie is superb! Excellent suspense throughout the movie, plot twists right where they should be, and little surprises and discoveries all the way through.
