Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Exit could be a new subgenre: the prankumentary. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The film is a curiosity. It's both an attempted documentary of an artistic movement and a bemused examination about why the movie failed in that mission. – David Germain, Associated Press, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The brilliantly untrustworthy documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop reminds us that a film can start out in one direction and then change course so radically, it becomes an act of provocation unto itself. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: One of the best, most karmically satisfying comedies of the year, much to the chagrin of the people who are in it. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Banksy prank?

An entertaining movie in which the first half covers underground street art (Banksy and pals) and then the rise of an unknown artist (not Banksy) into the mainstream art world. It makes the viewer question whether the entire thing was a prank by Banksy and Shepard Fairey. It will make you laugh and question what is the price of "good" art.

Incredible

Absolutely loved this movie. It was everything I expected in terms of getting an inside peek into the worlds of the artists featured, but at the same time there was a whole lot in this movie unexpected.....Banksy is a complete genius and I think its safe to assume that his wit has extended its self into the cinematic medium through this film....After watching it, I have to wonder how much of this is real? How much is trickery with an underlying message? Regardless, Banksy's genius has stirred my pot and made me think about things in a new way....A true artist......Yea, watch this movie....

Awesome Movie
