Plot Summary
Set in Beautiful San Francisco, this is a suspense-filled story of a bank clerk (Lee Remick) who is terrorized by a murderous extortionist (Ross Martin). Glenn Ford plays the reassuring FBI agent who protects the ingenue.

A good taut drama.
No Damsel In Distress
Blake Edwards isn't exactly known for his intense crime dramas, but this film is a surprisingly effective police procedural that features a strong villain and a standout performance by the stunning Lee Remick, who refuses to play the damsel in distress no matter how much trauma her character endures. Good stuff.
TERRORfying
Saw this when I was 10 years old at the drive-in and it scared the $@&! out of me! Would today's audiences find it as effective? Who knows, but I'll defend it as one of the best thrillers of all time...in the same league as NIGHT OF THE HUNTER and CAPE FEAR. Superb, with an eerie, suspenseful score by Henry Mancini.
