Plot Summary
The Eye (Ewan McGregor) is an intelligence agent whose current assignment is to track Joanna Eris (Ashley Judd), a woman suspected of blackmailing a senior government official. But the Eye soon learns that Eris is far more than a blackmailer. She is a seductive, shadowy master of disguise who is a frenzied murderer whose rage is as fierce as her beauty. As he follows her, he becomes fascinated with what he sees. Soon his surveillance becomes a deadly obsession. The closer he gets, the more intense the danger becomes. To catch her would be to lose her, so the odyssey continues until they find themselves on a perilous crash course.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Eye of the Beholder more or less throws Vertigo, The Conversation, Body Double, and -- so help me -- Duel in the Sun into a blender and hits puree.
Rotten: In trying to both inflame and indict our morbid curiosity, Elliott fails to make the needed connection between the audience and a peeper who has lost his moral balance.
Rotten: It isn't insultingly bad; it's just incompetent.
Rotten: Beholder tries to blend old film noir and new high-tech thriller styles with only sporadic impact.

Greatest film I ALMOST overlooked
This is one of those films that sticks with you for a while. Ewan and Ashley - as well as Genevieve Bujold and K.D. Lang - turn in excellent performances. Also not to be missed is the end song sung by The Pretenders' Chrissie H. The movie takes off with a stunningly shocking murder, and the train keeps rolling from there. Ewan is awesome as a man who's tortured, haunted and obsessed as he pursues his killer. OK, I'm lousy at reviews, but trust me - WATCH THIS FILM!
Man!!! This movie is awesome!!!!
I have been wanting to see this movie for a while now and I have to say: this is probably the best movie I have ever seen with Ewan McGregor in it (close second to Moulin Rouge). The way that everything turns out is freaky. I absolutely love this movie!!!!!
Didn't make sense.
I'm basically a fan of all Ashley Judd films but I have to be completely frank...this sucked it didn't make since at all I thought maybe at the end I would understand it but I ended up even more confused.
