Plot Summary
Inventor, astronaut and scientist Dr. Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) is spearheading a trip to outer space, to the center of a cosmic storm. There he hopes to unlock the secrets of the human genetic codes for the benefit of all humanity. Reed’s crew for the mission includes his best friend, astronaut Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis); Sue Storm (Jessica Alba), Von Doom’s director of genetic research and Reed’s ex-girlfriend; and Sue’s hot-headed younger brother, pilot Johnny Storm (Chris Evans). With benefactor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) in tow, the four set off for the exploration of a lifetime. The mission is uneventful – until Reed discovers a miscalculation of the speed of the approaching storm. Within minutes, the event threshold is upon them. The space station is engulfed by turbulent clouds of cosmic radiation which genetically transforms the crew. Their DNA is irrevocably altered… and so is their future. Back on earth, the effects of the exposure are quickly revealed. Together, they turn tragedy into triumph.

Rotten: Before the inevitable and surprisingly anticlimactic battle with Doom, we are treated to two extreme-sports demonstrations, several training montages, [and] an ill-advised love triangle.
Rotten: If there was ever any doubt that action scenes depend more on context than flash, Fantastic Four proves it.
Rotten: The Fantastic Four get treated reverently, but not seriously, in this modified retelling of the story, but then it's hard to take any one seriously who goes to work for Dr. Victor Von Doom and Doom Industries.
Rotten: Fantastic it ain't, but not bad it sort of is.

Unexpected
This film got bad reviews. Really bad review. In fact, awful reviews. I had no plans to go see it. Ever. But, because I liked superhero films, somebody got me it. I watched it. I was surprised. It was funny, it had action and I enjoyed it. It's flaw, though, was that this is an origins film, so it spent too much of the movie explaining the origins instead of developing the evil guy's plot. The evil guy's plot was basically nonexistant. But, I enjoyed it. I would recommend it.
critics are morons
this is one of my favorite movies ever. I saw it in theaters and loved it and i still love it. I don't know how anyone could possibly not like this movie. And don't listen to critics, they give all movies bad reviews.
great movie
when i first saw this movie i thought "what a great movie!" i was shocked when the revews ranked it at 2 1/2. this was because almost every revew compared it to the comic book. i think people need to not comparelike that, and bace their opinons on how percise it was to the book.. theres no way that they can be super exact with everything, so get over it. i think on its own, with no comparasin to the comic book, this is a great movie.
