Plot Summary
Directed by Mark Neale, Faster revolves around a world as competitive as it is dangerous: championship motorcycle racing. Filmed throughout the 2001 and 2002 seasons, the documentary delves into the 16 races held annually; these competitions culminate in the naming of a single champion. Like most extreme sports documentaries, Faster has more than its share of thrills, spills, crashes, slide-outs, and flips. The footage is supplemented, however, by interviews with racers including Australian veteran Garry McCoy, who had a titanium rod put in his leg only to crash shortly afterwards; the now-paralyzed former racer Wayne Rainey; hotshot American newcomer John Hopkins; and Italian rivals Valentino Rossi and Max Biaggi. Managers, mechanics, and doctors also offer insight regarding what makes championship motorcycle tournaments tick, and the borderline obsessive dedication needed to persevere within the sport.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: If you consider hurtling along at insane speeds inches from the asphalt to be a tad eccentric, the riders of MotoGP may just fit the bill.
Rotten: A kind of bone-crushing fun, but there's little drama and certainly no insight.
Rotten: A loud, choppily edited and surprisingly unengaging portrait of speed demons.
Fresh: A must-see for gearheads and rewarding for the uninitiated.

THIS is motorcycle racing
Not some cheesy docu-drama, this is the real deal. MotoGP is the pinnacle of the sport, and these riders are the best in the world. Don't miss this.
The Real Gladiators
This is one of those Movies that tells you the way it really is! I found it to be the best Documentary of what its like to race Moto GP. How racing is more them just speed. It takes you into the mind of the riders and how thay deal with each other on and off the track.
I find Micks comments on Max's abilty amusing and had to laugh at him. He forgets the past very easy. When Max in his rookie season on a 500 GP "None Factory Bike" take him down. only to be black flagged by some ID10T corner worker, that gives Mick the Championship.Had that not happen Max "In His Rookie" year wins it!
If you want to learn how to deal with other racers in any sport. this is a must see on how to combat the mind games that go on. how to deal with being injured and what kind of person you need to be to compete.
Buy it, you will watch it many times.
Faster: AWESOME JUST DOESN'T COVER IT!
This is easily the greatest documentary of all time! A true classic already, the soundtrack is incredible, there could not be a better narrator for this than Ewan McGregor, absolutely perfect voice for this type of film. The content is in depth and insightful enough for the hardcore fans yet still perfect for someone thats never even heard of MotoGP. Brilliant film work and amazingly entertaining! In fact, I'm going to watch it again tomorrow!
