Plot Summary

Have you seen the news stories about the obesity epidemic? Did you see “Super Size Me”? Then guess what? You've been fed a load of bologna. Comedian and health writer Tom Naughton replies to the “Super Size Me” crowd by losing weight on a fat-laden fast-food diet while demonstrating that nearly everything we've been told about obesity and healthy eating is wrong. Along with some delicious parody of “Super Size Me,” Naughton serves up plenty of no-bologna facts that will stun most viewers. Saturated fat doesn't cause heart disease. Sugars, refined grains and processed vegetable oils do. Having low cholesterol is unhealthy and is linked to cancer and stroke. Low-fat diets can lead to depression and type II diabetes. The diet recommended by the USDA will make you fat. Losing weight isn’t about counting calories. It’s about controlling the hormones that make you fat. This film features humorous animations as well as informative interviews with doctors and researchers.

Absolutely convincing

Thanks to this documentary, I was able to the truth about what Morgan Spurlock tried to accomplish with his documentary, Super Size Me. Tom Naughton is very funny. He was able to keep his composure throughout the documentary. That’s what made true documentary believable to me, unlike Morgan Spurlock who seemed to get in a temper tantrum throughout his documentary.
