Plot Summary
Feast of Love is a kaleidoscopic ode to life and love in all its funny, sad, sexy, crazy, heartbreaking and life-sustaining facets. In a coffee shop in a tight-knit Oregon community, local professor Harry Stevenson witnesses love and attraction whipping up mischief among the town's residents. From the unlucky in love, die-hard romantic coffee shop owner Bradley, who has a serial habit of looking for love in all the wrong places, including with his current wife Kathryn; to the edgy real estate agent Diana, who is caught up in an affair with a married man with whom she shares an ineffable connection; to the beautiful young newcomer Chloe, who defies fate in romancing the troubled Oscar; to Harry himself, whose adoring wife is looking to break through his wall of grief after the wrenching loss of a beloved . . . they all intertwine into one remarkable story in which no one can escape being bent, broken, befuddled, delighted and ultimately redeemed by love's inescapable spell.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Multiple narratives are fluidly interwoven and the writing is often inspired, resulting in dialogue that feels honest and insightful, if occasionally mannered.
Rotten: You can see better stuff on TV any night of the week.
Rotten: At one point he tells a love-struck friend, 'I think I'd proceed with caution.' I'd proceed just as cautiously to the movie.
Rotten: What's promised to be a feast ends up as only a wan TV dinner.

Beauty in the Chaos
For me, it's hard to find negativity in a movie starring Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear. If you're looking for a cookie cutter romance chick flick then this is not it. But, if you want the many shades of love - the painful, complex, beautiful and often confusing ways of the heart then pull up a chair! I felt like this movie was real and I wished that it dove a bit deeper in certain areas and some stuff seemed pointless until it was all tied together in the end. It did have a CRASH (the movie) feel to the script. I felt like the movie had to do with what you see in and out of love. For me, it showed how easy it is to be experiencing something so large such as heartache and to know that the world continues on in the wake of your pain. I think that it showed how big things in life seem small and how small and how small experiences and blessings are sometimes the true gift!! Look for the deeper meaning in this film and enjoy the Travis song!!! (Turn) I think that the nice soundtrack selection (also the Oscar winning Falling Slowly) marks a great movie that is a must see!! e.
Loved It
I am really happy that in this case I didn't buy into the so-so reviews of this movie. First, it was great to see an elderly interracial couple portrayed in a movie that was not about race. They were just...a couple. Also, I loved the varied stories, complex characters, unpredictable outcomes, etc. Sometimes only hi-tech movies make the cut in reviews, but I love these simple human character movies. This was really a great rental.
Lovely
Though not the cookie cutter chickflick, Feast of Love is a heartfelt, touching movie. Other reviews said that it was poorly scripted or poorly acted. That's not the case. There weren't as many words as there were nuances. Glances, body language, a look in the eye that spoke volumes more than words in a script could. In that same vein, the actors did a splendid job playing thier parts. They were completely believable. It was a wonderful movie and I would recommend it. There is nudity and some brief, but hot scenes. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN.
