Plot Summary
Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Public Enemies) knows firsthand that every day in New York City is a struggle to survive. So when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard, Iron Man, Hustle & Flow) gives him a chance to be something more in the brutal underground world of bare-knuckle street-fighting, Shawn decides that he has something worth fighting for and puts everything on the line to win. Each knockout brings him closer to the life he's always wanted, but also traps him in a dangerous web he can't escape. Fresh: The fights may not be very convincing, but the story's underdog structure is satisfying in a happy-cliche sort of way. Fighting is Rocky without the bombast, Fight Club without the daft metaphysical pretensions.
Rotten: There's a better movie inside it struggling to get out.
Rotten: This is a story we've seen dozens of times before.
Rotten: All of this, however, is plainly just a veneer on a solidly generic punch-up movie, and it thus becomes a drag. A more cartoonish approach would probably have been more fun.

NOT WORTH IT
I expected this movie to be great, but was far from it. If you want to see a great fighting movie, check out 'never back down' that is an excellent movie. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. not a good movie in my opinion, very boring.

this movie is terrible not enough action and story line is terrible. he only has like 3 fights and another character who hates him and you dont know why.
