Plot Summary

Martial arts star Steven Seagal stars in this action drama as Jack Taggart, an undercover agent working for the Environmental Protection Agency. When an EPA representative is murdered in a small Appalachian community, Taggart is sent in — posing as a handyman working with a Christian relief agency — to find out what happened. Taggart discovers that Orin Hanner (Kris Kristofferson), a powerful local businessman, has been illegally dumping toxic waste which has been leading to serious health problems among children in the area; it seems that the murdered agent knew too much and was killed to keep him quiet, a scenario the unscrupulous Hanner would be all too willing to repeat. Taggart becomes involved with Sarah Kellogg (Marg Helgenberger), a woman whose father also died under circumstances that trace back to Hanner. Harry Dean Stanton co-stars as Cotton, former member of The Band Levon Helm plays a preacher, and country music stars Travis Tritt and Randy Travis appear as themselves.

Great!!!!!!!

This movie is awesome. I am from Eastern kentucky so this movie really hits home for me. Plus I come from a family of past coal miners. Steven Seagal and Marg Helgenberger have great chemistry and are the two greatest people for this movie. I love it!!!!!!

Great Movie!

If you're a Steven Seagal fan, you'll love this movie. If you're also a country music fan, you'll really love this movie! Seagal does a great storyline picturing a very scenic Eastern Kentucky area in the Appalachian Mountains being abused by the dumping of chemical wastes into their water system. Seagal, working for the EPA, does a great job assimilating into the area and mixing with the people there, even though it is not his home. Marg Helgenburger also plays a beautiful and independent country girl, wrongly castigated from the town society for something her derangeb brother did in the past. As expected, Seagal is always helping the underdog, and develops a relationship with Helgenberger. What makes this movie so great to me is the appearances of classic country music stars like Marty Stuart, Travis Tritt, and Randy Travis, as well as Seagal getting a chance to demonstrate some of his guitar-playing ability, a side of his personna rarely shown. In all, I have to give the movie a five-star rating, and I think you'll enjoy it as much!
