Fire & Ice: The Dragon Chronicles

A true triumph in bad filmmaking. Think CGI movie produced for the SciFi channel, but on a high school drama department budget. If you have 90 minutes with nothing better to do than watch this movie, you should try to find an activity that's less painful - like getting a root canal, for instance.

Likeable, but Frusterating

The battle scenes are indeed weird. The camera swings as if from the point of view of a dog leaping around the arena. But, what most bothered me was the crazy nature of the dragons, which are clearly incapable of flight in any universe. It's all good with the dragons excepting that they are really manta-rays in the sky. They have not feet, nor wings. What they have is fins. So, every time a dragon appears in the movie, it's like a fish in the sky. No attempt to address obvious basic laws of physics and aero-dynamics, which is typical of the old, really bad dragon movies, but has been greatly imrpoved lately, excepting in this movie.

What saves the movie is the acting rises above the plot. The plot is simple, which is good because if it were any more complicated, this would be a B movie. The actors take the plot and make it something, though much of it is just emotional nonsense, artificial drama.

Still, that sort of thing doesn't bother me as much and the manta-ray flying monsters.

This movie would have been better if the dragons had been implied. As it is, every dragon scene will have you confusing the sky with the sea.

If you go into the movie with a brief history of dragons as anti-gravity alien craft from a water-world planet, you might have a chance of making it to the end.

Literally The Worst Film I Have Ever Seen

The acting was horrible. The script was horrible. The premise was boring, redundant, and incredibly stupid. The action was lame and far from thrilling. There is simply nothing good about this film whatsoever.
