Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Whenever Zucker stops piling on battle scenes as if he were directing Braveheart, his film casts a romantic spell.
Fresh: [E]very era has the right--maybe even the duty--to reinvent the Arthurian legend according to its lights, and so there is something instructive and entertaining about this version.
Rotten: The problem for him[Gere], and the film, comes when the non-physical acting begins.
Rotten: Pillaged of such mainstays as Merlin and Morgan le Fay-as well as magic, majesty and depth-'Camelot' has become 'Camelite.'

First Knight
One of the best movies i have ever seen in my life.. it is about honor and strength...forgiveness and what real men are.. it is about how one person can change the course of another if that walk in those things if the other chooses to believe..i am a young person but people of all ages need to see this .. amazing!!! The visuals on this are stunning!
Great Movie
This was a great movie about the knighthood and chivalry. Sean Connery performed his part brilliantly and shows us how the real King Arthur would act like. We must remember that the stories of Arthur and Lancelot change throughout different books such as "The Once and Future King" and "Morte D'Arthur." So it is okay for the director to put a twist on the characters and the plot.
Considering it is 1995 about Camelot
This was a great film when it was originally released. As for the comment about the Tristan & Isolde thing, oh please- isn't this the same thing people say about how they love 'Rent' the musical. The movie production companies love to release modern versions of old movies. 'Rent' is La Bhoeme for crying out loud. 'First Knight' may seem like a modern take on Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table, but at least it sticks to the original concept and great storytelling.
