Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Manages the considerable feat of interweaving the personal dramas of nine members of a boisterous Irish-American clan into a coherent mosaic with a streamlined narrative drive.
Fresh: A holiday-themed piece shot through with humor and heartbreak. No bull. And low on sappy.
Rotten: So little action takes place that really, the setting could just be adjoining couches, with characters shouting affectionate quips and insults at each other.
Fresh: An unpretentiously ingratiating dramedy about members of an Irish-American clan drawn together, whether they want to be or not, for a yuletide celebration.

LUV Ed Burns!!!
What a great, simple, holiday classic! Edward Burns is a master at the indy storytelling of themes that we take for granted in our society, our families and our friends! He also demonstrates that THE STORY is the most important by keeping his films on a small budget that inspires film students, filmmakers and people who just love films that big ideas does not always mean big budgets! Keep your Michael Bay bangs & crashes...I'll take an Edward Burns film from the core....any day!
Best Film I've Seen This Year
Written, produced, directed and acted by Ed Burns - give this guy an award. If you have a crazy family this movie has bits and pieces of the relationships you probably have with those close but distant members. Great movie. Great acting. Probably will become a Christmas Classic.
Incredibly Good
Ed knows what he is doing when it comes to showing how Irish Catholic families interact. His character is one you empathize with because you know the role he plays in this family so well, and the rest of the characters are so well casted that you feel their emotional struggles too. McGlone was great to see again as well as Connie Britton. Well done Ed, keep making more like this one.
