Great movie, and hard to find
This is a great mystery/espionage film from the early 50s. Joseph Mankiewicz directed this after his back-to-back Oscar wins for directing A Letter to Three Wives and All About Eve - and this film earned him another nomination. He deserved it, and James Mason does some great work as well.
Real movie about a real spy
Not a modern cartoon spy movie with human cartoon characters performing physically impossible tasks via computer software. A story told in reality of a servent who becomes the highest pay spy. Using real spy equipment he gathered information and sold it. Solid acting by all actresses and actors.
'Five Fingers' (1952)
After a shaky start - for the first few minutes the picture literally shakes - everything then smooths out into a very enjoyable viewing experience. This is a first class spy movie (filmed in black and white) with some fine acting and direction. Well worth the price of admission.
