Plot Summary
Let your spirits soar with this lighter-than-air adaptation of Jules Verne's classic tale. A ragtag crew of such unlikely associates as Jacques (Fabian) and Fergusson (Sir Cedric Hardwicke) race across uncharted African territory in a unicorn-shaped balloon. Accompanied by playboy American reporter Donald O'Shay (Red Buttons), the explorers are sidetracked, snared and drawn into battle with slaves, sneezing sultans, and sandstorms. Along the way, they meet up with a beautiful missionary (Barbara Eden), and an equally lovely slave girl (Barbara Luna) whom Jacques takes under his wing. With its excellent cast and breathtaking backdrops, Five Weeks In A Balloon is a buoyant blend of romance, adventure and laughter that adds up to grand family entertainment.

Great Childhood Movie Moments
I remember seeing this movie as a child 40 years ago. The title song is still fresh in my mind. It was a wonderful day at the movies with my mother.
One of my Favorites!!!
I don't think you have to be around when the movie debuts in order to love it. I grew up with this movie because it was one of my Mom's favorites. It's one that my boys are going to love and hopefully, they will pass it on too. It just goes to show that a good story can continue to be good regardless of when it was written (or filmed).
Worth It!
I really enjoyed this movie, you should really check it out.
