Great change up and refreshing Vampire spin
I'm a vampire film freak and when i heard about this film and then read that it was a unique Vamp flick, i had to check it out. I have to say that i was pleasantly surprised with the original story. Especially for a low budget indie horror film. I checked it out on IMDB and some of the actors seem to be a good mix of 'up and comers' and also first timers, but that comes along with lower budget indie films.
Fog Warning was a good film overall. The plot was intelligent, the visuals were fantastic (I saw in HD) and the actors for the most part were really good, way better than the kind of actors you normally see in films of this level.
There was even a bit of suspense which was nice. In my opinion, there wasn't enough 'gore', a little more of that would've been nice. I'm not a gore hound at all but just wished there was a little more throughout the film as most of the bloody stuff happens in the last 10 minutes or so. Definitely one of the best lower budgeted horror films I've seen.
No Redeeming Qualities
I typically am very receptive to low budget or indie horror but this movie was actually quite bad; over-the-top acting, no connecting with or empathy for any of the characters, too include the alleged "vampire", implausible and unbelievable plot devices . . . just too hokey for my taste. Just to give you an idea of what my tastes are for this particular genre to better measure my review, films that I like include some of the following titles: Frontiers, The Descent, High Tension, Grave Encounters, Let the Right One In, Black Water, Borderland, and Wolf Creek.
Thoroughly enjoyed
Good movie, I would recommend to any one who like horror films. Gives a refreshing take on vampire movie genre
