Plot Summary
In July 1969, the space race ended when Apollo 11 fulfilled President Kennedys challenge of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth. No one who witnessed the lunar landing will ever forget it. Al Reinerts documentary For All Mankind is the story of the twenty-four men who traveled to the moon, told in their words, in their voices, using the images of their experiences. Forty years after the first moon landing, it remains the most radical, visually dazzling work of cinema yet made about this earthshaking event.

Fresh: It could be argued that the Apollo missions were essentially a big, expensive photo opportunity for the propaganda machine of the Cold War, but Reinert's film serves to remind us that they also redefined who, where and why we are.
Fresh: If not the screen's ultimate portrait of space travel, For All Mankind remains a peerless planetarium show.

A Must See for All Space Enthusiasts
For the 44th anniversary of our having landed on the Moon for the first time, this documentary of breathtaking and stunning video and personal accounts of our first step onto a celestial body beyond our own was quite fitting to see. I was quite elated as I watched this.
