Eh

I wanted to love this film because I had heard so many wonderful things about it, not just press but friends too. I was hoping it would rise above the typical low budget 5d emotional personal journey film that everyone is making these days and true it's better than most of them, but still slow and painstaking to watch aka boring. Paul Dano is exquisite but it's not enough to see him just mope around forever with greasy hair.

Had potential

This is a movie that i wanted to love. It had real potential to be something special. It starts slow, creeps along even slower, and finishes excruciatingly slower, if that is possible. Paul Dano is always good to watch. This movie just tries too hard, when it didn't have to. Not horrible, not great, somewhere in between.

beautiful but loose

The scenery is beautiful and Paul Dano and Ellen are beautiful. But the development is loose. It is painstaking.
