Plot Summary

From the guys that brought you The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, comes “One of the funniest, damn movies I’ve ever seen!” (Richard Roeper, At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper). Peter (Jason Segel) is a struggling musician who finds his world turned upside down when his TV celebrity girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), dumps him for a tragically hip rock star. It's the hysterically funny look at how far one man will go to forget a girl – and all the fun he finds along the way!

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Forgetting Sarah Marshall goes out with a whimper when you so want a bang. But until then, this so-called romantic disaster comedy is a raucous ride through one man's pain. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, May 5, 2008

Fresh: This is a fairly low-keyed comedy, but a grown-up dropping in on it can appreciate its lack of frenzy, its fundamental good nature, as easily as its core audience will. It isn't exactly a gem, but as zircons go, it'll do. – Richard Schickel, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The cringingly wacky scenarios, offbeat characters and comic dialogue serve up a crowd-pleasing, laugh-filled experience. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Oct 18, 2008

Rotten: Forgetting Sarah Marshall follows the Apatow formula faithfully enough. All that's missing is charisma -- the je ne sais quois that makes us fall in love in the first place. – Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com, Jul 7, 2010

One of the finest Apatow Productions

If you can forgive the unlikely premise, there's a fantastic, funny romantic comedy here. And I know the term "romantic comedy" has come to be synonymous with "chick flick", but it's not. The humor's raunchy and omnipotent, the characters three-dimensional and lovable, their interactions believable. Definitely one to own. Saw this in the theatre, and everyone was cracking up. Except for the crying baby. Yeah, someone brought a baby to the screening. I'm sure she'll like it more when she's older.

One of the best comedies ever

I always knew I would love this movie based on the trailers and the fact that Kristen Bell starred in it, but it was so much better than I ever would have anticipated. The entire cast is brilliantly funny, and the whole movie is hilarious. Not to mention it has a good, entertaining plot as well. And might I mention that Mila Kunis is amazing?! My advice: buy it. You should just get the 3-disc collector's edition, since it comes with both the theatrical, unrated, and a digital copy of the movie for your iPod.

GREAT

One of the GREATEST MOVIES EVER. If you disagree get yourself checked for an STD.
