Plot Summary

Now In Theaters. Michael Fassbender is Frank, a genius musician who performs wearing a giant fake head…that he never removes. After a series of rehearsal videos go viral, they land their biggest gig to date. They then must decide if the world is ready for Frank’s sound. Written by Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare At Goats) and Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Men Who Stare At Goats).

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: You're in for something funny, touching and vital. Director Lenny Abrahamson knows his way around eccentrics. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Aug 15, 2014

Fresh: Odd, offbeat, somehow endearing, the bleakly comic "Frank" has its own kind of charm as well as some pointed, poignant things to say about the mysterious nature of creativity, where it comes from and where it might all go. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Aug 21, 2014

Fresh: The whole thing is in danger of becoming arch and quirky, yet Abrahamson steers the final act of his drama toward a sombre, unhappy rumination. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Sep 5, 2014

Fresh: A functioning, funny, weirdly touching fable of artistic angst and aspiration, a meditation on fame and its terrors and the metaphoric usefulness of masks and huge fake heads. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Aug 28, 2014

Customer Reviews

Great movie can't wait to be able to purchase it

Quirky, intelligent and fast paced. Loved it!

Wasted Time

Kept hoping it would get better. I didn't turn it off, but should have

tedious, tiresome, annoying

Despite a few funny moments, the schtick gets old fast and and at the end you have to ask the question . . Was this worth the time I spent watching it?
