Plot Summary

Police officer Chris Mankowski (Billy Burke) used to be on the bomb squad, but it's not until he transfers to the sex crimes unit that he really starts juggling with dynamite. Not only does he fall in love with the first person to report an assault to him, he’s suspended for investigating the rich, powerful and drunk Woody Ricks (Crispin Glover). Rape and revenge are just the tip of the iceberg in this twisty tale as Rick decides to take matters into his own hands…with hilarious results.

Entertaining

The movie is a faithful reproduction of the Elmore Leonard novel. Crispin Glover and Billy Burke are exceptional! Overall the movie is a fun, campy, tongue-n-cheek thriller with some nostalgic 1970s references. Very entertaining!

Solid baby!

It will get your freak on baby! Not a total blast from the past but lots of fun, and starring two super hot chicks who are out of sight.Wish it had more freaky deaky scenes but I rather watch this than the overhyped and over praised Django or Argo. Is the director Walter Matthau's son? The old man would be proud!

Nice homage to 70's cinema.

I love Elmore Leonard I have read just about every novel he has written this is not among my favorites. However some of my favorites (Stick, 52 Pick Up, Rum Punch) have been made into completely terrible films.

This on the other hand is a nice adaptation. Characterizations and dialog doesn't stray much from the original story. Much of it plays out just like it did in my imagination when I read the book. The tone of the movie was light and breezy just like the novel. I would love to see the director take a crack at one of Leonard's better novels like Stick or The Hunted.
