Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A snappily edited, archivally wallpapered recollection of fearless behavior in the face of an antsy establishment. But it's equally significant as a pointed act of retelling. – Nicolas Rapold, New York Times, Apr 5, 2013

Fresh: Fugitive, radical, communist and philosopher Angela Davis was the lefty hipster's pin-up girl and the right-winger's Afro-ed nightmare, and her authority and charisma are on full display in Free Angela & All Political Prisoners. – John Anderson, Variety, Apr 5, 2013

Fresh: Without straining for big-picture significance, it provides a composed look into the revolutionary spirit. – Sheri Linden, Los Angeles Times, Apr 5, 2013

Fresh: Prisoners is captivating from start to finish. – Ernest Hardy, Village Voice, Apr 3, 2013

Phenomenal Documentary!

Excellent documentary. An accurate and compelling historic piece. BTW: You're obviously illiterately ignorant. Angela Davis has not been a member of the communist party for many years. Besides, have you ever been to a communist country to even compare? Probably not, just traveled around the corner from wherever you live, oh, and in front of your tv watching fox illiterates.

Angela Davis

This movie was awe inspiring. I grew up in san jose and was a teenager during this time. Because of angela davis i learned what real racism was what real hatred was and is. I finally got a real understanding of what civil rights was and what hardships that black people were going through just because they were black.
The only thing i didnt like about the movie is that it ended too soon. Thank you for having the courage to stand up for your beliefs. What a remarkable woman you are.

Communist propaganda

More mainstream propaganda trying to promote communism, the most corrupt, inept and murderous plague to affect mankind.
