Plot Summary
Two worlds separated by water and land magically come together in this heartwarming, stand-up-and-cheer adventure about the friendship between a troubled young boy and a 7000 pound orca whale named Willy, the star attraction at a local adventure park. When the boy learns of the unfortunate plans the park has for his friend, he races against time to return Willy to his natural habitat. Directed by Emmy-winner Simon Wincer ("Lonesome Dove") and co-starring Lori Petty ("A League of Their Own," "Poetic Justice") and Michael Madsen ("Thelma & Louise," "The Doors"). this movie is incredibly touching. it is a story that the whole family will enjoy. i love it!
A Whale Of A Movie
This movie is so touching, when I first saw it it was just a great movie about a deep friendship between a 10 year old boy and a killer whale (Orca). When Jesse plays his harmonica while cleaning Willy's tank that was the moment that a friendship was forged. The orignal score was a master piece for this film because it blended well with the film. It was thanks to this movie that Keiko was moved to Newport. Rest in peace Keiko we will never forget you. Enjoy Keiko Fans.

This is a true masterpiece. Everything about this movie is amazing. An abandoned troubled boy is taken to the police ...again..after vandilizing a sea aquarium where willy, the whale, is living, after being taken miles away from his ocean family of whales. The boy ends up with his first family, while working at the aquarium. Along the way willy the whale befriends the boy. After a group of men try to kill the whale for it's lack of cooperation, they try to kill the whale. The boy sees the attempt and then tries to free willy back into the ocean before the men reach willy and gain a million dollars
