Plot Summary

Welcome back to Crystal Lake in this Extended Cut version of the chilling re-imagining of the classic horror film "Friday the 13th." Never-before-seen footage promises more thrills, horror and gore as Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, stumbling upon the creaky remains of rotting old cabins behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing lying in wait under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has in the search for his missing sister, Whitney (Amanda Righetti), with the help of Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are all about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history--the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The story has been pulled from its shallow grave, but not at all reinvigorated. Rather, it's been dusted off and repackaged for the sole purpose of raking in millions from foolish audiences. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The original handful of Friday films had a certain low-rent elegance about them, and this slickly done, dimly lighted, whiplash-edited update loses that too. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: It's business as usual at Camp Crystal Lake, with very little in the way of fresh jolts or an innovative visual style that would have really revitalized the hokey franchise. – Michael Rechtshaffen, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Soul-deadening homage, thy name is Jason. – New York Daily News, Jul 7, 2010

Jason on your Ipod

The movie is spectacular. The horror is great. You are kept on the edge of your seats the whole time. I am happy they have Nightmare on elm street coming out next year. yes if you liked it no if you didn't like it

Friday the 13th (Extended Killer Cut)[2009]

I watched this the day that it came out and the only diappointment was that the guy who was sitting behind me was kicking my chair the whole time. They combined the first three I think and it worked very well. This one guy said it should be called "Friday 420" for all the weed. My only compaint about the film itself has always been the whole "Remember Jason" thing. Other than that 5 stars.
