Plot Summary

Just another day. But what a day. A day that shows a lighter side to life in the 'hood. That brought Ice Cube (Barbershop) and Chris Tucker (Rush Hour) to a wider audience. And that's now even more uproarious in an Extended Director's Cut never before available. It's Friday, and Craig (Cube) and Smokey (Tucker) must come up with $200 they owe a local bully or there won't be a Saturday.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: This is a ruder, cruder version of the hip-hop movie House Party, and it offers a fascinating glimpse at the way street life enters pop culture. – Caryn James, New York Times, Jul 25, 2010

Fresh: Friday has energy, and sass, and the nerve to suggest that the line between tragedy and comedy may be in the bloodshot eye of the beholder. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 25, 2010

Fresh: A crudely made, sometimes funny bit of porchfront humor from the 'hood. – Todd McCarthy, Variety, Jul 25, 2010

Rotten: Writer and director are both only 25 years old -- and provide another example of why it's best to beware of young men with movie cameras. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Jul 25, 2010
