Plot Summary
Alfred Eaton, a young and intensely driven executive is trying to make his mark in New York's competitive business world. Complicating his rise is his failing marriage to Mary, his stunning and philandering wife. On the brink of enormous success, Alfred must make the decision to stay the course in a loveless marriage or sacrifice everything he's worked for to begin a life with his true love, Natalie. This classic drama puts the emotional burden on Alfred, who must make the ultimate decision - with either choice ending in great loss.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: This is a handsome picture, well-performed and emotionally intriguing as it describes the rise of a young business man and the corrosive dead-lock of his loveless marriage.
Rotten: From The Terrace builds up to one big cliche.
Rotten: A tolerable (if interminable) piece of mediocrity from 1960.
Customer Reviews
Great for fashionistas - 1955/1958 costumes
If you are seriously interested in clothes, this movie is for you. Other than great costumes, there's nothing to hold one's attention.
From The Terrace
For its day and time a daring movie.
A young Ina Balin, who had a star- crossed life, is at her most beautiful.
From the Terrace
Great performances by Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, and Ina Balin make this the terrific movie that it is. Really enjoyed this one.
