Plot Summary
Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann star in this seriously funny unrated version of the film from writer-director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up). When famous comedian George Simmons (Sandler) is given a second chance at a new beginning, he and his assistant, a struggling comedian, Ira (Rogen), return to the places and people that matter most…including the stand-up spots that gave him his start and the girl that got away (Mann). Co-starring Jonah Hill, Eric Bana and Jason Schwartzman, it’s the film critics cheer is “uproariously funny!” (Sonny Bunch, The Washington Times).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Funny People is funny, moving, dramatic, and alternately hilarious. It's a bit like a stand-up dramedy.
Fresh: Funny People may be deeply flawed, but at least it has an accurate title.
Rotten: It's interesting stuff, I feel myself wanting to like it more than I did. Judd Apatow has a lot to say, he just hasn't mastered the tools to say it well.
Fresh: The film is also an admiring portrait of the artist as Californian solipsist -- unburdened by personal ties or even the need to seem intelligent, free to follow his own random, petty, moment-by-moment train of thought.

Sad People
I liked this movie but it was more of a sad movie than a comedy. If you agree with me then say (yes) if you dont agree with me then say (no)
Misunderstood
When this movie came out, everyone expected it to be hilarious, just as Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin. The point of this movie was not to be hilarious like those, but to point out the funny things in every day life. People also expected it to be an "Adam Sandler Movie" because it stars Adam. I am not the biggest fan of Sandler, but this movie proves he does have some talent. Another mistake the audience would make is they had no idea how sad it would be. I knew going into it that it would not be as funny as the other movies Judd Apatow directed, but I had no idea how sad it would be. It gets very serious very slowly, and then climbs back up at the end to make it happy. This is a movie worth seeing at least once in your life, I myself saw it twice in theaters. Buy, Watch, and Enjoy this great timeless movie.
GREAT!
