Plot Summary
Kristen Wiig stars as Imogene, a failed New York playwright who is forced to make the humiliating move back home to New Jersey with her eccentric mother and younger brother (Annette Bening and Christopher Fitzgerald) after both her career and relationship hit the skids. Adding further insult to injury, there's a strange man sleeping in her old bedroom (Darren Criss) and an even stranger man sleeping in her mother's bed (Matt Dillon). Through it all, Imogene eventually realizes that, as part of her rebuilding process, she must finally come to love and accept both her family and her Jersey roots if she's ever going to be stable enough to get the hell away from them.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Wiig didn't write the script for Girl Most Likely, but surely all those years of making tangy lemonade from the SNL writing staff's lemons must have given her the chops to do more than she manages to do here. What a shame.
Rotten: [Wiig] might want to consider whether she really wants to get stuck unto eternity playing women on the verge.
Rotten: Kristen Wiig's comic artistry and its melodramatic tinge are squandered in this frenetic, schematic comedy, which also lays waste to a fertile premise.
Rotten: "Girl Most Likely" is a strange movie, in that it has the atmosphere of a comedy and some extreme characters set up to be comical, but there are really no funny scenes.
Customer Reviews
Sweet, Funny and Entertaining
I am SO GLAD I read reviews from customers and decided to rent this movie. While the movie may not be groundbreaking or life affirming, GIRL MOST LIKELY was charming, cute and definitely worth the $5 to rent!
LOVED IT
Despite the numerous bad reviews from critics, I really enjoyed this movie. I do feel that the script needed some work however, the actors did a great job in playing their characters and it's a good movie. It's funny, witty, sweet and has a lot of unexpected moments that make it all the more enjoyable. Also, anything with Kristen Wiig in it is pretty incredible. And Bening, Dillon, and Criss were a great bonus.
Loved it!
Everyone hated this movie but to be honest I loved it! The storyline with her becoming a play writer and interpreting her concept at the end of the movie with her own story was really awesome and I really enjoyed darren criss who is extremely talented and just overall great movie!
