Plot Summary

Directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn set out to discover how the West's most maligned musical genre -- heavy metal -- has affected cultures beyond Europe and North America as metal fan and anthropologist Sam Dunn embarks on a whirlwind journey through Asia, South America and the Middle East exploring the underbelly of the world's emerging extreme music scenes, from Indonesian death metal to Chinese black metal and Iranian thrash metal. Global Metal reveals a worldwide community of metalheads who aren't just absorbing metal from the West -- they're transforming it, creating a new form of cultural expression in societies dominated by conflict, corruption and mass-consumerism.

Great Sequel!

If You Loved The First Movie - Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. You'll Love This Sequel.

Where is the love iTunes?

First let me say Global Metal is an awesome metal documentary, it really shows how wide the appeal for metal is. This is a perfect sequel to Metal: A Headbanger's Journey.

Now on the topic of the original, where is the love iTunes for us metal heads in the states, Canada's iTunes Store has it, Australia's iTunes Store has it but the US iTunes does not. You would think that the country that has had one of the largest impacts on metal would be one of the countries where the documentary would sell. Get off y'all's butts and add it for us die hard metal fans here in the US!
