Plot Summary

The studio that brought you Remember The Titans now delivers another winner with this exciting and inspirational true story of the team that changed college basketball -- and the nation -- forever! Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama) stars as future Hall of Fame coach Don Haskins of tiny Texas Western University, who bucks convention by simply starting the best players he can find: history's first all-African American lineup. In a turbulent time of social and political change, their unlikely success sends shock waves through the sport that follow the underdog Miners all the way to an epic showdown with all-white, #1 ranked Kentucky for the National Championship!

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: An appealing Disney sports movie that underplays its potential, Glory Road is at least a more satisfying basketball saga than last year's Coach Carter. – Mike Clark, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The team's accomplishments are here diluted into fodder for another of the producer's feel-good man-weepies. – Matt Singer, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Glory Road abandons the clinical and compelling storytelling of the great recent Disney hockey movie Miracle, and aims instead for the contrived sentimentality of the slightly less great Remember the Titans. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Glory Road is a pure Hollywood fantasy. As movie fiction, however, I guess it is entertaining enough. – Jack Mathews, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Excellent!

Glory Road is a really good under-dog team movie. And while it does have its fun sences, it also shows what black basketball players had to go through to get where they are today. If you like the movie Remember the Titans, then is another movie you'll definately want to check out. I say check this one out for sure!

delightful and heart warming!

This is a terrific movie that I'm sure has touched the hearts of millions. I know for a fact that I am not a huge fan of basketball, but even then, I saw this movie at LEAST 3 times in theaters. It is a story of teamwork, friendship, prejudice, and racism. This is one of the happiest and best movies I have ever seen in my life. Buy it NOW!!!! <3

Excellent Story

I was at Texas Western that year, and the season actually was even greater than portrayed in the movie. I wish they had shown El Paso the evening of the NCAA Championship win. The town went absolutely wild! Movie was exceptionally well done, and acting was excellent also. I highly recommend it.
