Plot Summary
Popular stars Steve Zahn (Forces Of Nature, You've Got Mail, Out Of Sight), Jeremy Northam (An Ideal Husband, Mimic) and William H. Macy (Mystery Men, A Civil Action, Fargo) enliven a hilarious comedy where a case of mistaken identity leads to a beauty of a con game! When escaped convicts Harry Sawyer (Northam) and Wayne Wayne Wayne, Jr. (Zahn) are pulled over in the town of Happy, Texas...while driving a stolen Winnebago...they think they're being arrested. Rather, they're immediately welcomed as the vehicle's owners: a gay couple who've come to orchestrate the "Little Miss Fresh-Squeezed Pre-Teen" beauty pageant! Not ones to let a good con pass them by, the pair doesn't hesitate to adopt flamboyant new personalities and quickly meet with outrageously unpredictable consequences! With a great cast of stars playing an unusually offbeat collection of characters, you'll be more than happy you picked up this laugh-out-loud comedy treat!

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Almost everybody in this not-so-funny comedy is giddy and cuddlesome with a gosh-oh-gee enthusiasm that is at first engaging but quickly becomes a sign of a desperation to be liked.
Fresh: Steve Zahn shines in Illsley's feature debut, elevating this eccentric small-town comedy two notches above the level of writing. Using the fish out of water format, this Sundance premiere begins well but then declines rapidly.
Fresh: Happy, Texas is a hoot, a hilarious comedy that's smart and caring, yet sexy and ingenious enough that it just might stir up some of that elusive Full Monty-style box-office appeal.

A League of Its Own
This is one of VERY few movies that I sincerely love every time I watch it, and yet it falls into a category of movie I typically despise, the "Lie to get in, warm up to fake life, get found out, get ostracized, actually care." They really nailed it with an incredible cast and supremely unique story, replete with unending quotable lines: "David!......they stole our crappy camper" and "Wayne Wayne Wayne, Jr." I've loved this film for years and recommend it to anyone who likes heartfelt comedies.
