Plot Summary

HATCHET II picks up right where the original Hatchet ends, as the quiet but resilient Marybeth (Danielle Harris, the Halloween franchise) barely escapes from the clutches of bayou maniac Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder, the Friday the 13th franchise), who has already slaughtered Marybeth’s family and an entire swamp boat full of New Orleans tourists. Upon learning her own family’s tie to Victor Crowley from local Louisiana charlatan Reverend Zombie (Tony Todd, the Candyman franchise), Marybeth returns to the swamp with a team of hired guns to exact her revenge, but quickly discovers that not even an army of hunters can stand up to the fury and bloodlust of the legendary Victor Crowley.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Swift and amusingly brainless, Hatchet II more than delivers on splatter expectations. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Oct 1, 2010

Rotten: By the time Crowley begins literally ripping Marybeth's posse apart, one is too numbed-out to cheer the gruesome ingenuity of the old-school special effects. Die, Victor, die. Please. – Chuck Wilson, Village Voice, Sep 28, 2010

Rotten: The movie is never as cheeky or as fun as Green thinks it is, but he tries with all his might. – Wesley Morris, Boston Globe, Sep 30, 2010

Rotten: Say a prayer that there's no Hatchet III in the future. – V.A. Musetto, New York Post, Oct 1, 2010

Uck...

Just like the first Hatchet movie, this sequel is pretty much just like it. Blood and gore splatter everywhere and it's pretty cheaply made. But that's what everyone liked about the first movie. If you liked the first one, you should at least rent this one.

YES

Best sequel to live!

Check out Hatchet 3

Saw one and two. I just rented 3. Adam put a whole new spin on the sequel.
you will love it. More drama with the right amount of humor. The characters are well
scripted. Derek Mears that also played Jason is one of the characters which made it very interesting,
