Plot Summary
Sexual tension spills off the screen in this sweaty, titillating bromance from award-winning director Marco Berger (Absent, Plan B, Sexual Tension: Volatile). Hawaii follows Martín and Eugenio (Manuel Vignau and Mateo Chiarino), two former childhood friends who reunite during a hot summer in the Argentinean countryside. As they work together to restore Eugenio’s summer home, a game of power and desire ensues–forcing the two buddies to grapple with their sexual attraction and reconsider their relationship. With gorgeous cinematography, a lush setting and compelling lead performances, Hawaii is an intimate character study that pushes past social boundaries.

Full of atmosphere and sexual tension
This is a film with a lot of unspoken sexual tension between two men reunited from childhood. If you are familiar with Marco Berger’s previous film “Plan B”, you will recognize with sparse dialogue, meaningful looks and charged atmosphere. There isn’t much there in plot, but I enjoyed what Berger was doing with his actors and story. I also like the charismatic actor Manuel Vignau, who was also in Plan B. Find out why this is called “Hawaii”, as it’s actually set in Argentina.
Lots of silence but the tension is great
I am surprise how natural it feels and like many said the is a lot of tension and cat and mouse chase, feels like falling in love.
Highly recommended
Beautiful in its simplicity. Well acted. Thank you for this jewel, Argentina.
