Plot Summary
Jeff Bridges stars as a dreamy-eyed Iowa farm boy who heads to Hollywood in the 1930s with hopes of becoming a screenwriter. Instead, he becomes a star of low-budget Westerns. An offbeat comedy with a wonderful ensemble cast featuring Academy Award-winner Bridges ("Seabiscuit," "Fearless"), Emmy-nominee Andy Griffith (TV's "Matlock" and "The Andy Griffith Show"), Tony-winner Blythe Danner ("Meet the Parents," TV's "Huff"), Oscar-winner Alan Arkin ("Little Miss Sunshine," "Slums of Beverly Hills), and Emmy-winner Alex Rocco ("The Godfather," "Smokin' Aces").

I can't believe I finally found this movie in something other than VHS!! Have been looking for years! My father saw it years ago when he was on a long research cruise to Antartica. Came back raving about it - the family resisted at first - it's kind of hokey, but eventually you see the genius of it and love it! Now it's like our family movie - we can all quote almost every line to each other! Fans of The Dude will definitely want to add this to their collection. Plus, the rest of the cast is hysterical - especially Alan Arkin.
