Plot Summary
Academy Award-winners Robert DeNiro ("Showtime," "Analyze This") and Al Pacino ("Insomnia," "Any Given Sunday") -- together for the first time since "The Godfather Part II" -- head a stellar cast in this taut psychological drama about an obsessive detective and a brilliant thief whose fates are linked in the aftermath of a high-stakes securities heist. Co-starring Val Kilmer, Oscar-winner Jon Voight, Golden Globe-nominee Amy Brenneman, Golden Globe-nominee Tom Sizemore, Diane Venora, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominee Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman. The Hollywood Reporter praises this film as "stunningly made and incisively acted by a large and terrific cast. [Director] Michael Mann's ambitious study of the relativity of good and evil stands apart from other films of its type by virtue of its extraordinarily rich characterizations and its thoughtful, deeply melancholy take on modern life." Siskel & Ebert give the movie "two thumbs up!" and Time Magazine calls it "Truly epic. A masterpiece. Wholly original."

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Robert De Niro's last great role before he devoted himself to self-parody.
Fresh: Heat occupies an exalted position among the countless contemporary crime films.
Fresh: Michael Mann and a superlative cast have taken a classic heist movie rife with familiar genre elements and turned it into a sleek, accomplished piece of work, meticulously controlled and completely involving.
Fresh: The taciturn De Niro and the braying Pacino share a flawless scene over a cup of coffee, but the real honors go to Val Kilmer and Ashley Judd as a warring, loving couple.

Great Movie!
Finally, Heat makes it to the iTunes Store! Now we need to add Mann's other masterpiece: Collateral.
Excellent Movie
I'm just going to say that this is probably the best crime thriller I've ever seen. You will not be disappointed. It has an excellent cast and the plot/story of the movie held my interest the entire time. Saw it in 1995 and have watched it time and time again since.
So good they copied it to make the town.
