Intense Drama

Ashley Judd gives another wonderful performance as Helen, a married music professor who starts to suffer from severe depression. Helen's life and her marriage begin to fall apart as she becomes increasingly sick with Major Depression. Her friendship with a student who also suffers from mental health issues gives her someone who can relate and possibly keep her safe. Anyone who has ever suffered from depression or know someone who has should see this film. An honest, brutal, and compassionate film. One of Ashley Judd's best performances.

Great film

Yes, this movie is slow moving, but the acting is so great from everyone involved that it hardly matters. Ashley Judd's portrayal of Helen, a woman falling apart,is remarkable. But I think Lauren Lee Smith's portrayal of Mathilda, Helen's student who becomes her friend and suffers from bipolar disorder, is even better. Her major freak-out scenes are a bit frightening, especially the one near the end of the film. Helen has more freak-outs, but I found that I somehow sympathized with Mathilda more when hers occurred. This is now my new favorite film, even though it is very depressing. It is not for everyone, but I hope that people give it a chance.

For Insomniacs

If you suffer from insomnia, this movie will put you to sleep in no time.
