Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: [It's] better than the story it has to tell, and that is thanks to the bravery and sensitivity of Ms. Lynskey's performance and the sweet, intense love affair that is the film's main concern. – A.O. Scott, New York Times, Sep 6, 2012

Fresh: Every scene - including mopey family meals, secret assignations, and confessions under the stars - breathes with a freshness that carries this tiny romance safely beyond the realm of indie cuteness, into the world of a character worth caring about. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 5, 2012

Fresh: A funny, well-written, involving and emotionally honest tale. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Sep 13, 2012

Rotten: Sarah Koskoff's play-it-safe script and Louiso's heavy-handed direction combine to kill the potential of "Hello I Must Be Going." – G. Allen Johnson, San Francisco Chronicle, Sep 20, 2012

breath of not so fresh air

what in the world did i just watch

Charming and true to life movie

A wonderfully realistic yet heartwarming treat. Possibly a bit too understated for people who like over the top romantic comedies where everyone has some kind of mental disorder. Melanie Lynskey is excellent, as usual.

I agree Melanie Lynskey 's performance excellent..!!..!!

Her character felt real, funny, and relatable. Loved it a must see..!!
