Plot Summary
A couple's son and daughter inexplicably reappear after being lost overnight on a desolate, cave-riddled mountainside. As the children withdraw and begin to exhibit strange behavior, their parents quickly assume something sinister happened to them. But after hearing an ominous local legend, the concerned mother and father begin to realize that their children may have fallen prey to something inhuman -- and that this dark, unstoppable evil has now returned home with them.

Rotten: A muddled supernatural thriller that fails to capitalize on either its horrific prologue or eerie location.
Rotten: Intriguing if ultimately less than satisfying.
Fresh: Fond of lurching weirdness, jarring inserts and sonic loudness, Bogliano shows he's invested as much in conveying the psychodrama of a fractured home as he is the signposts of edgy, bloody retro-infused terror.
Rotten: An auteur like Carlos Reygadas would have taken this in a worthwhile direction, and he did something like this with his significantly artier film Post Tenebras Lux.

Another great premise marred by poor execution
The movie starts with a very graphic lesbian sex scene, and just heads downhill from there. Seriously, such a great premise rarely seen in horror these days, and it is left to the hands of an amateur writer/director. It seems as if we are watching him go through puberty in this film, and every scene screams of someone who needs a few more years as an apprentice.
The acting was mostly great (save for the young boy who seems to want to laugh during every scene he is in), and some of the special effects seem to be handled by someone whom is at least competent. But the grind house aesthetic and the overt sexualization of the female cast leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. Do not watch unless you want to see what a student film looks like.

Just a horrible mix of graphic sex and graphic, perverse violence that I didn't want stored in my brain.
Worst Horror Movie I Have Ever Seen
Nice metal soundtrack, but the movie made no sense. It’s little more than snuff porn with some Satanic imagery thrown in to make it “scary” to Mexicans.
