Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Audiences unfamiliar with the first film will be hard put to follow the action [from a story by Brian Clemens] as it incoherently hops about in time and space. – Variety Staff, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Mulcahy and company don't ask us to suspend disbelief; they ask us to pretend we've all had weed-whacker lobotomies. – Rita Kempley, Washington Post, Feb 25, 2009

Rotten: Highlander 2: The Quickening is the most hilariously incomprehensible movie I've seen in many a long day -- a movie almost awesome in its badness. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Leaden, laden with effects, short on imagination. – Time Out, Feb 25, 2009

this is the directors cut

Good news, this version is the directors cut. I was surprised when I started playing the movie, so do not hesitate to buy this film if that is what you are looking for.

Directors cut is by far the better movie

In the directors cut they don't try to make this an interplanetary epic they stick to planet earth. They don't try to change our understanding of the game. While I will still admit that it is the weakest movie of them all at least the directors cut is more in sink with the overall story. I'll just wait til iTunes gets that one before highlander 2 will grace my IPad. This is not meant to be negative about the actors only the overall structure of the movie.
