Plot Summary

30 years ago, a small horror film gave birth to 12 sequels, an endless body count and one of the most terrifying icons in horror history. Gore FX legend Tom Savini is your host for the ultimate documentary on everybody’s favorite hockey-masked momma’s boy and his three decades of cinematic carnage, featuring classic clips from every Friday the 13th movie, rare behind-the-scenes footage, and over 80 interviews with filmmakers, actors, stuntmen, FX artists, journalists and fans including Sean Cunningham, Kane Hodder, Seth Green, Harry Manfredini, Betsy Palmer, Greg Nicotero, and many more. His Name Was Jason…and this is his incredible legacy!

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The story has been pulled from its shallow grave, but not at all reinvigorated. Rather, it's been dusted off and repackaged for the sole purpose of raking in millions from foolish audiences. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The original handful of Friday films had a certain low-rent elegance about them, and this slickly done, dimly lighted, whiplash-edited update loses that too. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: It's business as usual at Camp Crystal Lake, with very little in the way of fresh jolts or an innovative visual style that would have really revitalized the hokey franchise. – Michael Rechtshaffen, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Soul-deadening homage, thy name is Jason. – New York Daily News, Jul 7, 2010

Good

Well made, but too much detail

Eh

It was alright but if you want to see a good documentary on a horror franchise I suggest getting "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy".
