Plot Summary

From Oscar® -nominated Ron Shelton (Best Writing, Original Screenplay, Bull Durham, 1989) this hot action comedy is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat...and in stitches. Starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, Hollywood Homicide redefines the buddy-cop genre. In Hollywood, no one is who they really want to be. Veteran police detective Joe Gavilan (Ford) and his rookie partner K.C. Calden (Hartnett) are no exception. Between Joe's struggling real estate business and K.C.'s fledgling acting career and yoga instruction, they've got a major murder case to solve. With both Internal Affairs and their main suspect on their tails, Joe and K.C. have to infiltrate the dangerous world of the hip-hop recording industry. Juggling two careers proves to be a comical adventure, with Joe and K.C. desperate to stay alive long enough to catch their big break.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Both leads in Hollywood Homicide work multiple jobs, and wear themselves out in the process. So does a movie with such a generic title that it's a marvel no one has used it before. – Mike Clark, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The surplus of character humor seems all the more desperate in view of the essentially humorless stars. – J. Hoberman, Village Voice, Jul 30, 2003

Rotten: The trouble is that Mr. Shelton and Mr. Souza don't do enough with the material to make it dramatically compelling. – Andrew Sarris, New York Observer, Apr 27, 2007

Rotten: A buddy film starring two people who, even as the closing credits roll, appear to have just met. – Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post, Jul 16, 2008

Very Very Nice!!

Don't listen to them! buy/rent the movie! AWESOME, funny, exciting it combines modern day hollywood with some old style detective!

Beware of the toxic waste!!!

It gets a star only because you cant give less. I want to warn everybody. This is unbelievable crap! It s a wonder that you actually have to pay for watching it. Harrison Ford by agreeing to play in this... sad thing kinda reminds me of the character he plays here. The guy makes pathetic business on a side to make extra money. Did he have some financial problems in 2002/2003 that he agreed to play in this ... I dont want to call it a movie out of respect for anything else he s done. Please do not waste your time any more beyond reading reviews. Isaw the trailer and then read the top review that sad that this flick is actually nice - I got coned! And I ll be contacting my layers to find out if I can sue anybody for my wasted $2.99 and almost 2 hours of my time. Just kidding with the lawsuit - but not with the waste.

AN EXTREME WASTE

...considering the talent involved. Typical plot, boring characters make you just not care.
