Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Cutting around frantically in a vain attempt to stir up some energy, the director, Uwe Boll, drops in occasional images from the video game itself, as if he were subliminally trying to remind ticket buyers why they showed up in the first place. – Dave Kehr, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: To properly convey the jaw-dropping shoddiness of this videogame-based 'horror' 'movie,' one must approach what scientists call Absolute Stupid. – Scott Brown, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Misbegotten horror movie adaptation of the best-selling video games. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Here is yet another video game transferred to film with little enhancement or development. – Loren King, Chicago Tribune, Jun 24, 2010

If you're looking for a good zombie movie...

watch Dawn of the Dead (the original or remake) 28 Days Later, even the Resident Evil flicks are better than this waste of film and time. If you just want a movie you can ignore and play in the background of a tweenie Halloween party, then House of the Dead is the movie for you.

Good b-movie

It's a really good b-movie. Lots of action, not so scary but some of the deaths are funny. I think it's worth watching.

Charles Fitzgerald

Great video game crappy remake. A better remake is heavily needed.
