Plot Summary

Capturing political theater at its most basic level, HouseQuake recounts the Democratic Party's stunning takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2006 elections, inspired by the aggressive tactics of Democratic strategist Rahm Emanuel. As election night approaches, the suspense ratchets up until nationwide results start to show a tide of Republican defeats and a dramatic sea change in American politics.

Customer Reviews

Great Documentary!

This was an outstanding movie that followed the races of individual candidates while highlighting the behind the scenes efforts necessary to take control of Congress.

Rotten Tomatoes reviews correspond to different film

The Rotten Tomatoes review above is for the horror film "House," which has nothing to do with the political documentary "HouseQuake."

Excellent Doc.

This is a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the 2006 Congressional election, where Democrats took back the House (and Senate) in spectacular fashion. A journalistic examination of election strategy, never shrill nor employing Michael Moore-like techniques. Highly recommended.
