Fresh: So much pot is smoked in the agreeable drama Humboldt County that you may come away from it with a contact high.
Fresh: An amiably paced, character-driven comedy-drama about a disenchanted student who finds himself among the unreconstructed hippies and second-generation fringe dwellers who farm marijuana in the Lost Coast region of Northern California.
Rotten: Humboldt County has an impressive cast and captures some of that era's fuzzy rebelliousness and humanism, but taken on its own the picture is finally thin stuff.
Rotten: Possibly it might be of some interest with the right amount of buzz, but then so is a passing cloud.

This has to be one of the best movies I've EVER seen, period. Nothing else to say. Highly recommended!
Original heartfelt look at the inner workings of the Humbolt underworld
I really enjoyed this movie. I had no idea what to expect and ended up feeling sad, thrilled, loved, satiated, suprised, scared and redeemed all in two hours. It may seem like a wild and outrageous plot, but it's a pretty true to life story about Humbolt and how all the freedom in this county can potentially bring its' dwellers both happiness and love yet lonliness and chaos. Watch it! Great actors as well...
