Plot Summary

The debut feature by writer/director Mark Tonderai is a gripping psychological thriller that begins with an ordinary late-night drive home on the motorway and ends with a deadly game of cat and mouse, in which a vicious killer is kidnapping women along a highway, caging them up inside his van. Tired and irritable, Zakes (Will Ash) and Beth (Christine Bottomley) drive home along the highway, a familiar journey full of harshly lit gas stations and bad coffee. When a white truck narrowly avoids hitting them, its back doors open to reveal a woman terrified and screaming caged up inside. Unsure if what he has seen is real, Zakes calls the police but drives on. Beth is furious that he hasn't done more to help and at the next gas station she storms off alone. When she doesn't return, Zakes slowly realizes that she too has been snatched by the white truck driver and is forced into a vicious game of cat and mouse with a ruthless killer who has terrifying plans for his human cargo. Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The label slapped on the side of Mark Tonderai's low-budget horror movie has absolutely no bearing on the silly contents. – James Christopher, Times [UK], Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Mark Tonderai's debut makes for a smart calling card but relies on one tension-destroying cliche too many and offers too few thrills to satisfy the hardened horror buff. – Wally Hammond, Time Out, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Despite, or maybe because of, its mundane setting this bleak and disturbing thriller succeeds in ratcheting up the tension. – Philip Wilding, Empire Magazine, Jun 24, 2010
