Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The best sex you will get all year, if that's what you crave in your moviegoing, is between Tilda Swinton and a prawn.
Fresh: If you're not in the mood, the whole thing will probably seem pretty silly. But if you are -- oh, if you are -- I Am Love may be the richest, tastiest truffle you're likely to savor all summer.
Fresh: I Am Love is such a lush, deeply textured banquet of sights and sounds that it deserves more than a movie review.
Rotten: A pall of deadly self-indulgence spreads as the story moves from operatic passion to soap-opera melodrama. It's as if director Luca Guadagnino filmed a synopsis of the script rather than a fully realized screenplay.

i am love
a furious, violent piece of cinematic perfection, Tilda Swinton utilizes every bit of her heartbreaking skill without even breaking a sweat. the cinematography is so decadent you want to taste it, and the ending is just. magic. this is one of those art house movies that people get angry about because they don't "understand" it. i am love isn't meant to be "understood" its the kind of film that is meant to be dwelled upon, the goal not necessarily being knowledge about itself but an appreciation for the art of filmmaking, and the art of storytelling.
Unbelievable
This was not a movie, it was art. Poetry in motion. The direction was beautiful. Tilda Swinton does not sign on to just any role. I picked this movie because of her. Never heard of it, never played the preview or read a review. Just downloaded it. I was right once again.
There are several problems with this film.....
Starting with the disjointed, sometimes nonsensical plot. But I loved it all the same. Such angst! Such melodrama! Such...grand opera! And Tilda Swinton, too! Curl up on the sofa on a rainy afternoon and enjoy. As another reviewer suggested, this is a movie one is meant to feel more than understand.
