Plot Summary

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: A deeper glimpse of the San Diego indie-rock scene around him might have made Brook's self-absorbed resentment less overbearing.
Fresh: "I Am Not a Hipster" is the kind of lovingly crafted, deeply affecting drama that gives small indie films a good name.
Rotten: The title accurately reflects Brook's constant self-involved, self-protective pose, but both he and the film tightly focused on him would have so much more fun if they just pulled back a little, looked around, and reached out.
Fresh: It succeeds at times in spite of itself, though it ultimately adds up to less than the sum of its sometimes impressive, sometimes insufferable parts.

Amazing
Amazing music, great down to earth story, hilarious at times
A Sundance gem
Saw this film at the 2012 Sundance film festival - it really captures the hard-scrabble indie rock scene without the typical navel gazing you would expect from a micro-budget flick. There's also some fascinating sequences that truly capture the process behind making music, plus some great performances from the leads. You won't be disappointed.
A MUST SEE!
This indie film was fantastic!
